Whilst it covered some difficult moments in history, it did so with a lightness of touch. A documentary was particularly good. Worth a visit.
Museum documenting the ressurection of the region after ww2. Absolutely worth å visit if you want to understand the cultural background of the "northerners"
I liked this museum, though the subject matter isn't the easiest, the outcomes longer term of post WW2 reconstruction have been good and life moves on for us all. The descriptions are in Norwegian, English and German, not just Norwegian as said in some earlier reviews so that appears to be updated. There's a small café, interesting gift shop and, though I didn't have time to look around in the detail I would normally give to any museum, there appeared to be other exhibitions too. Worth a visit. For an English Brit, it is both interesting and a salutary reminder that there are other stories beyond our own view of the Second World War. My parents lived through it and I was born in Britians own time of reconstruction. Visit this museum. You owe it the respect of learning about what it tells future generations. Thanks to everyone at the museum.
Very good museum, interesting exhibits nicely put together. Helpful staff and a café where some local gentlemen meet each day for a chat - you can too....
Coming from Germany I have to admit that I only had limited awareness of the impact of second world War to Norway. Great documentation and a must see.
