Very enjoyable experience. The museum presents memorabilia and history in a pleasant environment. Plenty of room and time to linger and revisit stations. It's a great tribute to Buddy Holly, the Crickets, and many other musicians from the era and Texas.
The Concerts on The Patio are so nice. Having the food trucks and drink station set up are, also nice. Throughout the summer, they had awesome performers. Today was Patricia Vonne and Robert LaRoche. They were totally awesome and entertaining!! The Buddy Holly Center, itself, is amazing and informative, if you know little about Buddy Holly. Well worth attending.
So Amazing! I loved it! Been her 7 yrs. Came here from Florida. Have always wanted to see it! My mother would dance to him when I was growing up. My mother passed last year & I had to go see for myself! It was what I expected & more! Thank you Gene!
Enjoyable place to go if you appreciate history of Buddy Holly. Being his nephew it is nice to finally see that there are some things in his honor in Lubbock, after his music wasn't wholly accepted very well during his short lifetime... After all, even Elvis, Johnny Cash, and Carl Perkins, on that first time they were all together at the Cotton Club, were directly introduced to Lubbock itself after their show, which in the very least, likely helped the economy of the city at that time on to even present day.
It is a small exhibit but very well put together; it encompasses the very short but that much more illustrious career of this young musical genius. There is something new to learn even by very well versed musical history buffs and fans of rock and roll.
